I won't even bother you with excuses for my lateness. Let's just jump in, shall we? Something I wish I were better at--two things come to mind for this one. Firstly, I've been thinking how I want to become better at playing the piano. Want to see part of my incentive? I want to be able to play this:

But seeing as I've mentioned the piano a couple times already, I thought I should include the other thing I've been thinking about. Lately I seem to have a sore lack of patience. I don't like being grumpy and irratable, so I've decided it's something I need to work on. I want to be more patient.

As for my favorite book, that is indeed a tough one, especially since my list of favorites is growing. My I first say, reflecting on Breanna's post, that I didn't discover Harry Potter until the fourth book had come out. It too is one of my favorites. There are so many good ones out there, but I think I'm going to go with The Hobbit.

I think part of the reason I love Tolkien's The Hobbit so much is because I started out hating it. Strange perhaps, but true. I read it for the first and second time in middle school if I remember correctly. I was required to read it again in high school. By that time, I fell in love with it. I originally found it boring and annoying. Now, the very things that annoyed me are some of the things I love most. I think my little 12 or 13 year old self wasn't quite ready to take on this book (I had a similar experience with Pride and Prejudice, which is also now one of my favorite books). I'm excited to see how the upcoming movie will turn out.
